COLBY, KS — The weather was not ideal but the Goodland Cowgirl golf team made the best of it qualifying for the state tournament on Monday afternoon. Goodland shot a combined score of 385 to place second behind Syracuse who edged them by just seven strokes. Kerrigan Rudolph shot a team low 86 to place third individually. Colby and Bram Perryman both shot 98’s. Bram took 8th and Colby took 9th. Peyton Belden shot a 103, Brooke Drennana 105 and Keyly Jarrett shot a 120.
“Glad to say this will be the 14th year taking girls to State. Looking forward to a strong finish at state this year,” said coach Connie Livengood.
State will be held at Emporia’s Municipal Golf Course on Monday on the 15th.
GOODLAND, KS — The Goodland volleyball team continued it’s 2018 season at home on Tuesday evening hosting both Hill City & Oakley. GHS took care of Hill City first, defeating the Ringnecks 25-21 in both sets. But in the late game, the Cowgirls were unable to close out their match with Oakley as they took set one, 25-19 but would drop the next two 25-19 & 26-24.
Goodland sits at 8-21 on the season overall and heads to Hugoton on Saturday to play in the GWAC tournament.
