GARDEN CITY, KS — The late season tear for the Goodland boys golf team continued on Friday at the GWAC golf tournament at Buffalo Dunes as the Cowboys ran away from their league foes to take home a GWAC league championship.
Goodland had four of their six golfers place inside the top ten to finish with a team score of 338, besting second place finisher Ulysses by 37 strokes. The four Goodland golfers who medaled or who finished in the top 10 were: Garin Ihrig in first, Ryan Lalicker fourth, Brennan Brumbaugh sixth & Brock Mull ninth. Ihrig shot a 75 for the low-round score.
Colby as a team placed fourth with a team score of 438. They were led by Carter Stanley who had one of his better rounds of the year with an 80 to place second individually.
3A regionals take place on Monday in Goodland at Sugar Hills Golf Course.
