
GOODLAND, KS — After taking both meetings in the regular season the Colby Lady Eagle softball team won again over their rival Goodland when it mattered most, in the postseason. Monday, Colby defeated Goodland in Goodland in the first round of the 3A regionals, 12-8.
Colby got up big early leading 9-0 before Goodland chipped away and got it down to just a one run deficit after a rain delay before Colby pulled away to win it 12-8 the final. The win for Colby gave them their first 3-game season series win over Goodland since 2013.
With the loss Goodland ended their 2018 season at 6-15 overall.
Colby with the win will now face number-one seed Scott City on Tuesday at 3 PM (CT) in Goodland in the regional semifinals
