“On two different occasions during the afternoon hours of Jan. 29, 2014, the Colby Police Department, assisted by the Kansas Highway Patrol and Thomas County Sheriff’s Department, were attempting to locate a male subject that ran from an officer in the northwest part of Colby. The officers looking for the subject were not able to positively identify the subject, but believed that the subject matched the description of a person wanted for misdemeanor warrants out of Thomas County. Though the subject has eluded officers, the department does not believe him to be armed and dangerous at this time, and do not feel that the situation requires schools and other facilities to be in a ‘lock down’ situation.
The Colby Police Department can confirm that it has active warrants for the arrest of Brandon Parsons. Parsons is a 22 year old black male that is six foot tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. Parsons is a former Colby Community College student and still has ties to Colby.”
