The Colby Community College Intercollegiate Horse Association (IHSA) team will host their home western show Oct. 1-2 at the college farm. The show begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.
The IHSA promotes competition for riders of all skill levels, who compete individually and as teams at regional, zone, and national levels.
CCC is a member of zone eight, region five. The region includes CCC, Cloud County Community College, Colorado School of Mines, Laramie County Community College, United States Air Force Academy, University of Colorado-Boulder, University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Wyoming.
The equestrian team is coached by Shanda Mattix, Sara Jamison, and Jade Kruse.
“We’re looking forward to starting the competition season and to host our region at the CCC show,” Mattix said. “Our team has been working hard to prepare and I’m anxious to see the results. We only host one competition this fall and the equestrian team appreciates the support this weekend.”
There is no charge to attend. The college farm is located three miles east of Colby on Highway 24, and one mile north on County Road 23.
