There is one bright spot to come out of the Kansas City Chiefs loss to Baltimore Sunday, and it had nothing to do with what went on on the field. The game marked the 300th Chiefs broadcast for Mitch Holthus.
Holthus, originally from Smith Center, is the longest-tenured radio play-by-play announcer in Chiefs history. His trademark call, “Touchdown, Kaaaaan-zus City,” has become a part of Kansas City culture.
You can hear Mitch weekly on 790AM KXXX, radio affiliate for the Chiefs.
