TUES., JUNE 12 – RIBBON CUTTING

WED., JUNE 13 – FARMER’S MARKET
The Farmers Market is back, in a new location! Vendors will have produce for sale every Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in downtown Colby. JUNE 10 -15 – CREATIVE ARTS CAMP
Shepherds’ Staff Creative Arts Camp is a resident camp for kids 8 to 14 years of age that is designed to help prepare them to serve in their church. During the week-long at camp, the kids will learn ministry skills such as drama, dance, praise team, guitar, puppets, dowels, and audio/visual technology. Campers also choose from several activity classes to participate including various arts, crafts, camping and nature courses, rocket building, archery, air rifle, carpentry, games, and more. JUNE 11-15 – NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM CAMP

This camp is sponsored by the Prairie Museum of Art & History is for kids (and adults) 4th grade and up. Campers will spend the week learning about a local historical figure for the 1960s, and how to create an interesting narrative as that person. On Friday, campers will share their characters with the public in our own version of Night at the Museum. The camp is free. Preregister by calling the museum at (785) 460-4590 by May 25.

MON., JUNE 18 – BURN WHILE YOU LEARN

Citizens Medical Center’s second “Burn While You Learn” event will begin at 11:30 a.m. Meet Dr. Dan Kuhlman at the trail-head by the Poolside Park and enjoy a 30 to 45 minute walk while you discuss health topics and have an opportunity to ask questions. SAT., JUNE 23 – 5K WITH YOUR K9 RUN

Swartz Veterinary Hospital is sponsoring their fifth annual 5K with Your K9 Color Run at the Colby Walking Trail. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the 5K beginning at 9 a.m. at the front of the library at CCC. T-shirts will be given at the starting line while supplies last. Pets must have a current written Rabies certificate to race. Pre-registration is appreciated. For more information contact Swartz Veterinary Hospital at (785) 460-1078.

PASSPORT TO THE PAST

Pickup your Passport to the Past at any participating museum and visit up to 16 museums over the next several months. Answer the questions at each location and be sure to have your passport stamped. You will receive a small gift at each museum for visiting with your Passport. Turn in the completed answer sheet at any participating museum by December 31 for a chance to win prizes. SAT., JUNE 23 – DRAG MAIN NIGHT

The American Legion Riders will have a Drag Main Night with burgers and fries starting at 6 p.m. A 50/50 drawing and dragging main will be held afterwards. All vehicles are welcome. For more information contact Wayne Luckert at (785) 694-3451.

JUNE 26-JULY 4 – HCS FIREWORKS STAND

Heartland Christian School will be opening their annual fireworks stand starting June 26 and running through July 4th. The fireworks stand will be located at the Colby Livestock Auction parking lot. For more information call the school office at (785) 460-6419.

JULY 16-18 – BASKETBALL CAMP

The Colby Community College men’s basketball team will host two skills camps at the Colby Community Building. From 10 a.m. to noon, fundamentals will be taught for K-8th grade kids. High school kids will learn advanced skills from 1 to 3 p.m. Preregistration is preferred, but students may register at the start of camp. The fee for all three days is $60. THU., JULY 5 – COMMUNITY BAND

JUNE – JULY – SPORTS PHYSICALS

Does your child need a sports physical? Call and schedule your child’s appointment at the Family Center for Health Care before July 15th and be entered into a drawing to win a $100 gift card from the Sports Shoppe!
