The Colby Community College Lady Trojan softball team will host the 15th Annual Duck Soup Tournament at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9, at the City of Colby softball fields.
The Duck Soup Tournament is a fun event with special rules for each inning, such as running the bases backward, players hitting with their non-dominant hand, and playing with a 16-inch softball. Each team includes a minimum of five men and five women. Games consist of six innings with the visiting team awarded one-half point to avoid extra-inning games.
“If someone wants to play and isn’t on a team, we will help them find a place,” said CCC head coach Steve Kinnett.
The entry fee is $100 per team or $10 for individuals. All proceeds benefit Lady Trojan Softball.
“The fees assist with travel expenses, field maintenance, and practice equipment,” said Kinnett. “Support is appreciated for the program and the student-athletes who become members of the community.”
To register, contact Kinnett by Sept. 2 at 460-5507 or (785) 513-1700.
