Brownback using private email and cellphones for business

Republican Gov. Sam Brownback says he has been using private email and cellphones for official business since he was a U.S. senator. Brownback’s disclosure raises concerns because such communication isn’t accessible under the Kansas Open Records Act, which is meant to hold government officials accountable. Attorney General Derek Schmidt has suggested that lawmakers close the loophole in Kansas’ records law that allows this practice.
