An archaeological dig near Arkansas City turns up evidence of a Native American settlement going back more than 400 years. Researchers also found lead and iron balls, the same kind of ammo that was shot by Spanish conquistadors in the area in the 1500’s. A professor from Wichita State believes the site is Etzanoa stood, which was inhabited by about 20-thousand ancestors of the Wichita Indians.
