9 straight wins for CCC volleyball

The Colby Community College Lady Trojans volleyball team won their ninth contest in a row Wednesday night at the Colby Community Building with a three-set sweep of Dodge City, 25-18, 25-12, and 25-23. 

Colby had contributions from several players. Sophomore Aleks Malek led the attack with 14 kills and freshman Taylor West had nine, while sophomores Singryd Valadares and Taylor Barrett each added eight kills. Sophomore Maja Jankovic had another solid game. The 2015 KJCCC Freshman of the Year tallied nine digs and five aces. 

The Lady Trojans now stand at 9-1 overall and 2-1 in the Jayhawk West. Friday they host Butler County in a conference game beginning at 6 p.m.
