A Kansas tax amnesty period begins Tuesday and will last for six weeks. The state will be waiving interest and penalties on back taxes accrued before the start of 2014. The Department of Revenue expects the amnesty program could bring in as much as $30 million, based on past amnesty periods. Anybody applying for amnesty has to fill out a form from the Kansas Department of Revenue and pay in full by October 15th.
