4 kids, 2 adults injured in Southwest Kansas school bus crash

According to Kansas Highway Patrol reports, four kids, with the youngest being 9 years old, and two adults were injured Monday morning in an accident involving a school bus.

 

The Finney County school bus was eastbound on Annie Scheer Road and failed to yield to a stop sign at U-83. John Browning, 53, of Ulysses was driving his pickup northbound on U-83 and collided into the side of bus five miles south of Garden City.

 

Thirty seven students ranging in age from 5 to 14 were on board. The four kids hospitalized were two boys, ages 9 and 12, and two girls, ages 9 and 13.

 

Browning was transported to St. Catherine’s in Garden City with injuries. The 72-year-old bus driver, Ronald Sherraden, was injured and transported to the hospital as well.

 

None of the injuries sustained by the six victims were considered serious.
